Spurred by advances in areas such as quantum computing, virtual reality, cognitive analytics, bionics, neural interfaces, and self-healing materials, transformative applications are on their way to consumer markets worldwide.
Yet, the unpreparedness of public institutions for this next wave of technology innovation will most certainly give rise to new challenges and put increasing strain on public resources.
