So, we are are looking for an experienced JAVA programmer/developer to join our team and play a key role in developing highly interesting applications for the community we serve.

More specifically, we are looking for a new team member with specific working knowledge and demonstrated experience in JAVA/GRAILS. You need to have advanced working knowledge of GRAILS, JavaScript, AJAX, and HTML in order to readily integrate into an existing development project and team. On a regular day, you will be building new features and accelerating new capabilities in collaboration with other members of the development team. You will be integrating code and debugging issues in our test servers in collaboration with our user experience team, as well as building out new capabilities – for example, through API and mobile integration.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a professional software developer
• Experience building production grade applications in Java
• Experience working with modern and open-source JavaScript applications and libraries (i.e., JQuery, Bootstrap, D3.JS)
• Experience with agile code design and development processes
• Experience and thorough understanding of source code management using Git
• Good communication, attention to detail, and team collaboration skills
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

• Specific experience building applications in in GRAILS
• Experience deploying and debugging applications on local servers
• Experience working with MySQL and Solr
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Experience writing clean HTML & CSS and working with Angular 2+front-end
• Experience working with node.js
